The normal line is smooth because it reflects the Gaussian distribution of temperatures; it is just the inverse of the standard cumulative distribution function.

I'll take a look at the wind observations sometime soon.
Richard Jameshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08313902028896263276noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4572286363399496963.post-59755813674800231502014-07-21T11:18:40.151-08:002014-07-21T11:18:40.151-08:00I've ran my Monitor a few times this summer. ...I've ran my Monitor a few times this summer. It has been chilly. (And windy. How much wind have we had recently? )

I find it interesting that even though you stated that the average max was running 3 degrees below normal, there has been many days more than 2 s.d. below normal. Shows to me how an average value betrays the possible variability.

I like the second set of graphs. I would be interested in seeing this graph for last summer and winter since I don't remember you making one. And I'm intrigued by the curviness if the normal line. It's pretty smooth. Cool, cloudy, and too wet as some have suggested? Something to think about.

GaryNL7Yhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15874712728971005352noreply@blogger.com
