Here's a plot of the daily average temperature at Fairbanks since Oct 01. For what I usually refer to as "mid-winter", December through February, the mean temperature (through Feb 27) of -6.0F is a bit below normal (-4.7F through Feb 27). This will be coldest December through February since, get this, way back in 2008-09.
