Barrow Finally Below Freezing
Late on Friday evening, September 23, Barrow dipped below freezing for the first time since June 29th. The streak of 85 days is 17 days longer than the previous record set in 2009.
it's interesting that the previous record was in 2009, which is only two years ago. So Alaska is warming up very drastically, maybe in 10 years we'll be able to grow palm trees here.
Hi Rick. Great info about the record. Is there anyway i can get in touch with you? I would like to ask you few more questions. thanks! Alessio (University of Alaska Fairbanks) alessio@gi.alaska.edu
