Fairbanks Temperature Update
After a mild start, October temperatures having been running below normal mid-month. Here's the 2012 plot of daily standardized temperature anomalies for Fairbanks through Thursday, October 18th.
Just curious, did those below normal temperatures start with the establishment of the winter time snow pack? Of course its kind of a chick or the egg thing, which came first. Matthew K
Temperatures cooled off several days before the snow came, which was good, as the roads were cold when it did snow. As a result, driving conditions were not nearly as slick as during the the usual "first snow". I'll put up a post about the establishment of the snow pack later today (been quite hectic here of late).
