Last November I noticed that Juneau had a day where the high and low temperatures were identical. It got me to thinking about how common of an occurrence this is. Well, here is the answer for the "Big 3" cities in Alaska. Surprisingly, Fairbanks has had more of these days than either Anchorage or Juneau. Note: I will check surrounding stations for the June 1905 occurrence in Fairbanks.
Anchorage - 1 occurrence
1/8/1917 Max = 11, Min = 11
Juneau - 2 occurrences
10/26/1942 Max = 57, Min = 57
11/13/2012 Max = 32, Min = 32
Fairbanks - 3 occurrences
11/12/1904 Max = 10, Min = 10
6/25/1905 Max = 54, Min = 54
12/24/1909 Max = 8, Min = 8
I'd guess it's highly likely that all three of the Fairbanks dates are bogus; as all are pre-1910 and the obs forms have many errors.
